Flower colors to go with a sage green bridesmaid dress…?
I am planning my wedding for July 25th, 2009. I am trying to think about wedding flowers. I have selected a sage green bridesmaid dress and was thinking about my options for flower colors. What I am thinking is that I could do Ivory roses for their bouquets and I could do pink and ivory in my bouquet with lots of greenery. I want to add the pink because I love pink and want to incorporate it somehow. I thought about doing pink for the bridesmaids flowers too but I wasn’t sure how it would look. Does anybody have any suggestions for flowers or flower colors that would look good? My theme is sort of a victorian garden theme with lots of flower decorations and butterflys and things. The dresses are bunched up to the side with embroidery and beading on the top. They are pretty plain on the bottom but there is a small sweep train. Suggestions please?
Congrats .. the planning can be exhausting but also tons of fun. Numero 1: Go wtih what you like!!
* Roses are a staple in wedding flowers. They are longer lasting, open up beautifully and photograph nicely. What most people dont know is that there are hundreds of varieties and color selections.
Narrow it down by color first and then by type. See list below.
Pink hues will compliment the sage green dresses. As far as your bouquet, assuming you are wearing white/ivory, anything goes. Distinguish your bouquet from the b-maid bouquets.
I think you should go with hydrangeas. It is a beautiful, delicate flower but will hold up well in the Summer heat. Try to incorporate some of the same type of beads of the bridesmaid dress into the bouquet …. just a few to make it pop.

You may want to get a wedding floral designer. If you are looking to save money, try going to to the floral dept at a major grocery store. The Managers of the Floral dept. are trained and should have experience. Also, try going to a wholesale flower house (closed to the public), but you can ask around and I guarantee a trained rep. will jump at the chance to make extra cash and BONUS you can get the flowers next to cost.
