I want to plant climbing roses on the front of my house in troughs.?
Can anyone advise me if this is the right time of year , and is there a particular name of rose anyone can recommend. We want something that is going to make quite an impact. We have an east facing wall.
By the way I have to plant in container as i have no ground soil, and I live in England
You don’t say what zone you live in, it’s a little late for most of the US. It can still be done if you take care not to let it dry out until it’s well established. Roses, by the way, do not grow from bulbs. You buy grafted rootstock.
I’d suggest “Blaze”, of course, or ”Dizzy Heights”, ”Sky’s the Limit”, “Compassion”, or “Everblooming Climbing Cecile Brunner”.
